Azer-Yod

The plant exploits the largest deposits of iodine reserves in Europe. Azer Yod is the fourth-largest producer of iodine after Chile, Japan and United States. The plant is located not far from Khilli (18 km) and Neftchala (1 km) brine deposit areas, with average iodine concentration of 42 mg/l. 120 industrial wells has been launched at these deposits. It is expected to drill additional AZER YOD wells and raise capacity of the plant up to 1,000 tones/per annum. Products are exported to countries such as Russia, Ukraine, India, China, and Poland.
